In view of the national goverment measures to keep preventive and compulsory social distancing , the director of the La Plata Stadium's Administrative Agency , Felipe Vismara,  ordered the closure of the stadium to guarantee workers' isolation and safety. 

Moreover, Vismara established minimum activities to ensure maintenance and safety. 

President Alberto Fernández issued a decree for total lockdown to further reinforce the preventive measures against the spread of Coronavirus in Argentina. 

Cultural, sports, religious and any other kind of massive events are banned according to the decree. Thus, Vismara suspended the Stadium's agenda. 

These measures are added up to those taken by the Southamerican Confederation of Soccer, which had communicated the postponement  of the 47th edition of the American Cup (47° Edición de la Copa América) to be hosted by La Plata's Stadium as venue for the match between Argentina and Colombia.
